Who is the qualification for?

The VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Nail Technology is a substantial vocational qualification for anyone seeking a career as an employed and/or self-employed nail technician. This qualification is based on the nail services National Occupational Standards (NOS) and is recognised by the UK's leading professional bodies (The British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC) and the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT)) as being fit for purpose for preparing learners for a career as a nail technician.

What does this qualification cover?

This qualification will develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to prepare you for employment/self-employment as a nail technician. You will have your nail services skills assessed in a real or realistic working environment.

This qualification includes all the required elements to work effectively as a nail technician including: providing and maintaining nail enhancements, manicure treatments, health and safety and client care.

You will also develop your understanding and skills by selecting a number of optional specialist units which include: pedicure treatments and nail art.

This qualification structure provides you with the flexibility to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills required depending upon your designated career pathway as a nail technician.
